Sixty-nine percent of executives said customer insights have greatly improved as a result of connecting AWS, Salesforce
DENVER, February 18, 2025 – As more enterprises turn to a multi-cloud strategy to transform customer engagement, optimizing data-sharing between systems is a key to long-term success, according to a new report from leading global cloud professional and managed services provider AllCloud.
The report, “How Executives are Using Data and AI to Reimagine Customer Engagement,” details thoughts from nearly 240 executives with a hand in their business’ data and AI strategies. AllCloud explored the improvements executives have seen from defining their data and AI strategies, as well the impact these strategies are having on their customer 360 approach.
Of the executives using both Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Salesforce cloud environments, nearly all – 95% – are sharing information between the systems as part of their data strategy. While many have found that their data sharing has unlocked new customer insights, there’s still room for improvement: 69% have said their insights have greatly increased, while 26% said they’ve slightly increased.
“You can’t fully unlock the power of data in a multi-cloud environment without prioritizing data sharing between platforms,” said Peter Nebel, Chief Strategy Officer at AllCloud. “As the number of businesses leveraging multiple cloud vendors grows, so will the complexity of storing, tracking and aligning insights across them. Creating a data sharing strategy will significantly improve the process of developing a true customer 360 strategy, and it’s a great sign so many executives have taken this first step.”
Overall, two-thirds of executives indicated they’re reaping the benefits of data/AI strategies in five categories: revenue growth (66%), operational efficiency (64%), cost-time savings (64%), insights and decision-making (63%) and customer engagement and/or experience (63%). Broken down by strategy area, 42% indicate their data strategy – and 37% indicate their AI strategy – has led to significant time savings, the most frequently achieved benefit.
As executives forge ahead with their data strategy, some report there’s still internal trepidation toward AI strategies. Forty-four percent said security or privacy concerns are roadblocks to fully embracing the tech, while 34% lack the right hires to take advantage of AI and 33% are having difficulties integrating with legacy systems.
Despite these hesitations, executives do feel well-positioned to use technology to track the customer journey. Eighty-two percent said they’re confident in their current data capabilities.
“The benefits of AI are clear. Ninety-two percent of respondents said they’ve seen some to a lot of value from leveraging the technology,” Peter said. “This data reinforces how customer centricity can lead to new growth when organizations properly leverage data and AI to track the customer journey.”
