Job Summary
AllCloud is looking for an experienced Cloud Security Specialist who will become the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for designing & implementing security solutions that leverage AWS's cloud technology. Our customer engagements will focus on overcoming barriers to AWS adoption by identifying and tackling major security, risk, and compliance questions from stakeholders across businesses in all verticals. You will work directly with customers to help them understand how to use AWS confidently, identify risk and design controls, set up ongoing assurance, and establish automated compliance.
Beyond helping our customers, as the SME for all things Security, you will develop whitepapers to enable customers to leverage AWS Security patterns, practices, and services fully.
The Cloud Security Specialist will also create field enablement materials for the broader SA population to help other SAs understand how to integrate AWS security into customer architectures.
Summary of Key Responsibilities
- Assist in designing, implementing, and maintaining security controls and best practices across AWS environments.
- Develop and maintain auto-remediation automation runbooks using Python and AWS CDK.
- Monitor and respond to security alerts and incidents, implementing automated responses where appropriate.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify security risks and develop mitigation strategies.
- Participate in security assessments and audits, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Document security processes, procedures, and runbooks for internal and external use.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest security trends, vulnerabilities, and technologies.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience (Advantage).
- 1-2 years of experience in AWS cloud technologies or a related field.
- Proficiency in Python programming for automation and scripting tasks.
- Experience with AWS Cloud Development Kit (CDK) for infrastructure as code.
- Familiarity with AWS security services such as IAM, CloudTrail, GuardDuty, Security Hub, and AWS Config.
- Understanding of security best practices and frameworks (e.g., CIS, NIST, ISO 27001).
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate or AWS Certified Security – Specialty certification.
- Experience with other programming languages such as JavaScript, TypeScript, or Go.
- Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools (e.g., CI/CD pipelines, Docker, Kubernetes).
- Customer facing soft skills
